Opportunity:
On campus housing
UF has several dorms scattered all around campus which houses a majority of freshman students. By interviewing students about their needs and their concerns I'm able to see first hand what the problems are and how they can potentially be solved.
Unmet need/Questions:
What do people like/dislike about living on campus?
What things would you change about living in a dorm?
Who this applies to:
Students living on campus, I interviewed specifically outside my dorm, Beaty Towers.
Interviews:
What I learned about the opportunity:
People have mixed emotions when it comes to living on campus. Some dislike small bathrooms, some dislike truly everything, while others are able to see the benefits. This has shown me that experience is based on perspective and who you are surrounded by when living on campus.
What I learned about interviewing costumers:
People are willing to be interviewed if you approach them with confidence and slightly aggressively. Some people weren't interested in helping me and thats fine, I was kind of like a hawk circling my dorm hunting for people to interview. But when I showed I was excited about interviewing them, they were excited about contributing. Happiness and joy is contagious, I guess!

Kristiana, I think you did an excellent job with your assignment. First of all, I like what you have proposed. I think it's a great idea to tend to the people who may not really like living in on-campus dorms. Additionally, I think it was a great idea to stand in front of beaty towers to do your interviews, because your proposal is directly tied to regular students. ReplyDeleteWow Kristiana, this is awesome! I feel you did a great job with your interviews and what everyone said. I think your idea is also very cool because I have had an idea like that in the past and would find something like yours to be very efficient! Heres my blog post! ReplyDeleteHi Kristiana!
ReplyDeleteI thought you did a great job as well and definitely asked the right target audience. My only comment for next time would be to ask a few more follow-up questions to get a better idea of why people had those answers. This might help you better target the root cause to help further develop your business idea.

Thanks for sharing!
Kristiana, I thought you did a wonderful job with your interviews. Having lived on campus last year, I know there are so many pros and cons and it's interesting to hear what other people's thoughts are on it. I think it is almost better than you only asked one question because people are more willing to help you if they know you are not going to take up very much of their time. Great job!
ReplyDeletePS Love the snapchat selfie at the end
